Primary School Co-Teacher

Department: Primary School
Location: Sandy Springs, GA

Holy Innocents' Episcopal School is looking for a Primary School Co-Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. The Primary School Co-Teacher will work from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM each school day.

Position Summary

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in the Primary School learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed ­­­­under the supervision of the Primary School Principal.

Typical Duties

  • Provide assistance and instruction to students in a Primary School classroom.
  • Support and implement lesson plans and monitor student performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and environment.
  • Update and maintain student academic records and performance metrics.
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues regarding student progress.
  • Provide an engaging and positive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the School’s code of conduct.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare classroom for class activities.
  • Maintain safe environment supervising students on the playground.
  • Attend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directed.

  • Work collaboratively with classroom lead teachers and the Primary School team to innovate instructional programs and teaching methods.

  • Deliver student-centered teaching, positive classroom management and imaginative assessment methods.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, kneel, bend at the waist, use hands from wrist to finger, and talk or hear for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
