Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a Primary School Counselor. The counselor will strive to build a strong foundation of social and emotional skills that will encourage the youngest members of our school to be successful students, friends, and community members. This is a full-time, academic year position.

Our program incorporates games, art, role play, and creative activities as vehicles for memorable lessons and experiences. Our focus in counseling is on the unique strengths and qualities each student possesses in order to help each child utilize their gifts in ways that promote social and emotional growth and well-being.

The Primary School Counselor will be available for regular, individual and small group work throughout the school day and should be willing to attend to the immediate needs of our student body. An ideal candidate for this position will be a team player, supportive, flexible, positive, have excellent classroom management skills, and enjoy spending the day with young children. The Counselor for the Primary School also serves as a resource to the parents of our students and should be involved in weekly meetings with our Student Support Team, Admissions Team and our teachers.

Minimum requirements include a Master’s Degree, experience in Counseling and a Counseling license/certification or work towards licensure.
