Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a Lower School Lead Teacher. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12^th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.

This is a full-time teaching role for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Typical Duties

• Design and implement innovative lessons and assessments to achieve learning goals in the Lower School instructional program.

• Monitor and assess student progress and performance.

• Provide students with an engaging and hands-on learning that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and the overall teaching environment in the grade-level team.

• Communicate student progress clearly and effectively to students, parents and faculty, through emails, meetings, formal student reports.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Prior experience teaching in the Lower School Grades (1-5).

• Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.

• Strong classroom management skills.

• Commitment to collaboration and team teaching across disciplines.

Educational and Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred

• Prior experience with the Singapore Math Curriculum is preferred

• Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required
