Upper School Administrative Assistant

Location: Sandy Springs, GA

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a full-time Upper School Administrative Assistant. This is a calendar year position reporting to the Upper School Principal.

HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day-school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.

Typical Duties

  • Provides administrative support for the Upper School Principal, Assistant Principals and other administration to establish a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff.
  • Manages comprehensive student attendance including daily recording, tracking patterns, and generating detailed reports for administration, teachers, and parents.
  • Communicates with parents/guardians regarding student absences, tardiness, and attendance concerns through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
  • Coordinates with teachers, counselors, and administration to address chronic attendance issues and implement intervention strategies.
  • Responsible for administrative scheduling for meetings, interviews and events.
  • Attendance at some major school events outside the regular school hours may be required.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Certified administrative Professional (CAP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience in an administrative role required, in schools preferred.
  • Experience with student information systems and attendance management software preferred. Knowledge of Orah attendance software a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and Outlook required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive student information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor to students, families and visitors.
