Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a full-time Lower School Orchestra Teacher for the 2024/2025 academic year. The successful candidate will have an eagerness to inspire young people musically and be committed to working as part of a dynamic fine arts team.

Typical Duties

• Co-teaching 3^rd-5^th grade Orchestra classes and 1^st grade general music
• Collaborating with Middle and Upper School Orchestra colleagues
• Preparing ensembles for concerts
• Participating in GMEA sponsored events
• Providing music for various HIES community events
• Organizing field trips as part of the curriculum and supporting other performing arts programs
• Other duties assigned by the Lower School

Educational and Other Requirements

• Candidates should exhibit superb communication and leadership skills.
• Outstanding classroom management skills and rapport with lower school students.
• Qualified applicants will have degrees in music or music education and experience teaching in the lower school orchestra classroom.
• A master’s degree and Georgia teaching certificate are preferred, but not required.
• A specialty in Cello or Bass preferred, but not required.
