Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a part-time Middle School Computing and Coding Instructor for the 2025-2026 academic year. The instructor will teach students the fundamentals of computer programming, as well as how to incorporate skills like logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. The instructor will also help students troubleshoot their code and assist with the creation and development of software.

Typical Duties:

• Teach technology skills and coding to students in grades 6-8.
• Facilitate hands-on experiments and projects that allow students to learn by doing and exploring.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media which guide the learning process.
• Attend professional development and training related to technology programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field or prior work experience in a related field.

• Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.
• Prior experience working with students in the middle grades.

• Strong classroom management skills.

• Commitment to collaboration and team teaching across disciplines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
