Facility Support Technician

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School is seeking a Facility Support Technician. The Facility Support Technician is part of the team that assists in various events and activities across the school’s campus. This position will be responsible for shipping and receiving of internal/external mail and packages and will also be responsible for the fleet of vehicles (buses, golf carts etc.). This is a full time, calendar year position. Full time employees may be eligible for benefits including health care coverage, retirement plan contributions and paid time off.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver packages, parcels, and internal/external mail both on and off-campus.
  • Use a hand-truck to move packages to various delivery sites throughout the campus.
  • Inspect, maintain, clean, and operate the school’s fleet of vehicles.
  • Ensure all vehicles are safe, functional, and ready for use at all times.
  • Set up and assist with various events, both on and off-campus, which may include arranging furniture, equipment, or stage parts.
  • Complete work order forms as directed and communicate effectively with the supervisor regarding progress and needs.
  • Take direction and be organized to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Ensure that facilities are consistently available for use and maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. Report safety or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, providing logistical or manual support as required.
  • Must be "hands-on" and assist in completing maintenance work.
  • Conduct building inspections as assigned, ensuring that facilities are safe, clean, and in good working order.
  • Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
  • Performs related duties, as assigned.

Requirements and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in an educational environment preferred.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • A strong understanding of accepted practices, processes, materials and tools of the maintenance trades.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with others effectively and an understanding of a work order system.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills as well as the ability to work independently with accuracy.

The employment process includes a drug screen and background check in accordance with federal and state regulations. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Frequent lifting of equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn and reach in completing a variety of job duties
  • Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time
  • Work in wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school
