Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a part-time long term substitute Upper School Visual Arts Teacher. This position would begin immediately and last through the end of the 2024/2025 school year. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish independent day school in the country, serving 1,400 students and offers a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12^th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.

Typical Duties

• Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the mission of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School and the Visual Art department’s curriculum objectives.
• Teach 2 sections of Foundations of Art (one section focused on introductory drawing & painting and one section focused on introductory photography).
• Other duties as assigned by the Upper School Principal or Director of Fine Arts.

Educational and Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art, Art Education or related field required
• Experience working in an art classroom.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• A love of working with upper school students and an ability to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
• Active collaboration with other members of the Visual Arts faculty (PK3-12)
• Planning and coordinating display of student artwork on and off campus.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required.
